Organic milk and meat straight from the farm!

WELCOME!

We are a dairy farm of around 26 cows from Haukipudas that produces organic haymilk and meat for direct sale.

Oravan luomutila is located in Ristikangas, on the north side of Oulu. The roots of the farm are set in the end of the 18th century. Masters of the farm are brothers Simo and Anton. Our hay fed Holstein stock's prime quality E-class milk can be bought directly from the farm to your own containers every day of the week!

HAY FED

Our stock's feeding is based mainly on dryed clover hay and crushed grain that is preserved with organic molasses.

ORGANIC

We transfered to organic farming in 1992 and our farm's milk, meat and other products are all organic.

DIRECT SALE

We sell milk, meat and other seasonal products like first milk (colostrum) and potatoes directly from our farm.

NO ANTIBIOTICS OR PRESERVATIVES

We don't use precautionary antibiotics or any chemical preservatives.

DIRECT SALE

We sell milk directly from our farm every day to our customers' own containers for the price of 1,20€/litre. We accept cash and bank transfers. We sell milk on weekdays at 8.30-9.00 and 18.00-19.00 and weekends and holidays at 18.00-19.00.

We sell meat as cargo shipping to our customers in the amounts of a half of and animal and a quarter of an animal, in 1-4 kilos vacuum packages. Half of an animal is  70-100 kg meat in roasts, fillets, minced meat and meat with bones.

We also sell for example first milk (colostrum), potatoes and 3/5 litres stainless steel milk containers whenever we have them in stock. Ask for more!

CULTIVATION

We have 90 ha of fields - 60 ha is ours and the rest is rented. We cultivate grain and hay which is all fed to our own cattle.

Cattle

Out cattle is formed from 60 Holstein-breed bovines. 20 of them are dairy cows. We raise our own bulls and calfs.

COWSHED

Our cowshed has been extended in the late 90s to a cowshed in which the animals are unchained and free to walk around.

OTHER

Simo also has a harvesting company Puunkorjuu Orava ay with his brother Arto and father Ari.
